Should I care about appearances?

I have a skin condition which leaves a scar when it heals, should I care if people see the scars or not?

I want to say don't care, because you shouldn't


But I know how hard it is to not care. You try and ignore it but it seems always apparent.





What you have to learn, and it's very hard, is to love yourself. As cheesy and stupid as that may sound, that's the only way to go. A scar does not define who you are, you do.


I have multiple scars on my wrists from accidents, and when people ask, they think i've hurt myself and act weird around me. But my real friends don't care. You can't let someone think you are akward because of something about you.


It makes you unique :-) Maybe you can even find a cool design in it, which could be fun.


I'm sure it's not something you are thrilled about, but make the best of it you can.

Reply:same here. a lot of times people ask me if im emo because i always wear skinny jeans. When i said no they told me to show them my wrists, and of course, i have a few scars near my wrists from scaring easily. I do care, because emos scare me a bit and i do not want to be called one because of jugdemental people. Just tell them the stories behind the scars. thats what i do. Then they say "oh ok, guess your not emo." I HATE TOASTERS!!!

But if you are concerned about scaring try this stuff called MEDERMA... i'ts sooooo good!! Heals scars to where you can't even see them! :)
Reply:Depends upon the scar. Go see a dermatologist and discuss any insecurities.
Reply:how bad are the scars because if they are huge than people are obviously gonna look but its nothing to be worried about!


but what really matters is hw you feel about yourself so if it is causing you to have less confidence cover them because you can be the ugliest person or have the most scars in the world but if you have self confidence it wont matter

Reply:hell no because their 2 cent dont even matter their just sayin it 2 be sayin it but u should care about how u look 2 people if u r happy the way u look then dont give a damn about what people say just worry about how u feel u know that u r good lookin so dont give a damn about what people say
Reply:No, people should love you for who you are! If you are a great guy, it doesn't matter if you have scars! Flaunt what you've got! Let your personality shine through! Be you, and if being you is the best you can be, then you have done enough! Good Luck! I hope that I helped you!
Reply:has your doc told you there's nothing that can be done, how about a dermatologist? cosmetic sugery.....i hope these ideas help.
Reply:DEFINATELY ask your dermotologist or even doctor about prescription scar creams!





They work wonders.


Other than that... just tell your friends you got the scar from some rad motorcycle incident or from taming tigers.
Reply:If it bothers you then you could look into making them less visible. But if it doesn't then go out there and be yourself. If people don't like you for who you are then that is their loss and they probably weren't worth getting to know if they are going to be that shallow. Real beauty is on the inside(this goes for both men and women).
