How do people asscoiate the disease HYPERTRICHOSIS with racism?

Also, why do they get all bent out of shape over a question regarding this rare skin condition.

No I don't have it, I just saw a couple shows featuring people with it and am wondering. The shows didn't raise this question just the answers I got when I asked a question on here regarding Hypertrichosis.

Have @ it.

How do people asscoiate the disease HYPERTRICHOSIS with racism?
most people are retards

soo they just call u racist for wahtever reson

epscilay the african monnkeys
Reply:I just looked up the term. You are refering to those people that are covered in hair? You should probably mention that in your question.

And I have no idea what "racism" you are talking about. How about a point of reference.

EDIT: Thanks dude. Insults are great when attempting intelligent discussion. I was trying to be helpful, that is all.

For one, most people have no idea what hypertrichosis is. Mention it, maybe, or post a link to the wikipedia article.

Two, You gave no examples of how you saw racism. You mentioned some shows, but never said waht you saw. I have never heard people specifically discriminate with those with it. In fact, some have become minor celebrities. What specifically are you talking about?

Try not to be so angry. It is bad for your health.
Reply:Whether it is Hypertrichosis or any other serious condition I believe the reason underlying the response you seek to explain is simple fear. Simple basic human fear of the unknown.

Whattya all think ?

Bite or Rash, need help?

I have been to 2 doctors about a skin condition I have been having. A couple of months ago I started developing lumps on my hands and wrists that were pink/red in color, and itched quite badly. After a month or so I started to devolpe a rash over my arms, hips, stomach, and chest that was determined to be excema. While the topical steroids helped with the itching and the excema, the bumps on my hands and wrists are still present. They come and they go, but this morning they were 4-6 new ones that showed up. I have noticed that if I squeeze the bumps a clear liquid comes out of the affected area. Also it appears that the liquid comes out of 3 seperate makes all very close to one another. It appears as 1 mark until it is squeezed and the liquid come out of 3 spots in a triangle shape. I am thinking that it may be bed bugs, and that my excema was an alergic reaction to the bites. Not sure if anyone else has experienced this or not? Thanks for the help.

Bite or Rash, need help?
You need to see a dermatologist. Its sounds like pustular psoriasis...

EDIT: If you think you have bed bugs...Look on the wall behind your pillows and look for tiny dots of blood..If you see that, you have bed bugs. Although if still sounds like psoriaisis. Btw, there is no cure for this...You will need to use cream on the areas as needed possible forever ( I have it...) %26amp; increased sun exposure helps (Viatimin D) also tanning beds...Ask your doc for: fluocinonide cream.05%
Reply:Dude I say it is a rash you have go to the doctor and ask for cream.
Reply:I have suffered from eczema since I was a child and I have never had any liquid come out of any of my "spots". Have you examined your bed for bed bugs? Is there something else that could be causing this reaction? Have you seen an actual skin doctor (a dermatologist), or even an allergist? You might not even have eczema, it could be psoriasis.
Reply:Check for bed bugs by looking between your mattress and the wall for any black powdery substance. I doubt it's bed bugs because you'd have bites all over you, not just on your hands. It sounds to me like you might have either an allergy to something that you're getting your hands in - (do you wear rubber gloves, perhaps with latex?) or you could have a staph infection. Keep track of what you do with your hands every day - what products/soaps/detergent/cleaners/gloves you use and what jewelry/watch you wear. Try using different things and wash with neutragena soap for a few days to see if your rash clears up. I do suggest going to the doctor and ask specifically about staph as it's frequently misdiagnosed and does present as a pimply sort of rash.
Reply:log onto morgellons.org and compare symptoms

if its morgellons Stay away from steroidal creams steroids period and dermatologists cause docs don't believe this is happening to people .

anti fungal creams help but no treatment to get rid of it cause the what is it is not known.

If you buy a 30X handheld lighted microscope you can then use that to see your skin . See if you find tiny thread like filaments in your skin .. then show a doctor the fibers with printed stuff from morgellons.org

I have had great remission since being on tetracycline 1000mg a day for a year but you have to get the doctor to see the fibers cause they will not look for them I hope its not morgellons but email me for hints on relief at nomof3@yahoo.com . I cant offer a fix only relief feel better

Why can't I fit in with others?

Hello, and thank you for reading this.

I am a 23 year old college student and have the most wonderful girlfriend who I get along with great. I feel that in general, as a shy person, I do not fit in with others, that is, people my age group and even others of similar interest to me. At school I feel much more mature and goal oriented than my peers. I went to a metal concert with my girlfriend and we did not have a good time because we didn't "blend in" and people acted very rude to us...pushing/shoving/standing in front of us. My girlfriend has a skin condition that causes her to have acne appearing tumors on her face, and everyone stares at her, making most public situations in general awkward. I feel that I (or we both) are possibly way to mature for our age and because we don't drink/smoke/whatever we don't fit in (not that we would do anything to that is). I feel that society is becoming more "corrupt" and this is simply a sign of the end of times (the comming of Christ). Help...

Why can't I fit in with others?
I'm 21. I'm just like you, "shy." And I have certain standards for myself as well.

I think its hard for us to take to others, and since we feel people aren't like us and do things we aren't cool with- I think that puts us in defense mode.

So instead of opening up to new people, we are quick to say they are negative and dislike us, whether its a fact or not. And how are you gonna enjoy yourself at that concert if you felt like everyone hated you? If you tried to just live in the moment with the rest of the crowd, you'd feel better.

I think its like "fight or flight" defense mechnism. I go clubbing with my friends, but I don't like talking to the guys that come on to us. And those guys nag me about it and I get upset. I feel those guys are rowdy and annoying. But if I would've made small talk with them, like my friends had, I probably would've enjoyed myself more-cuz those guys wouldn't accuse me of having an attitude.

But then again its my right to act how I want, just like they have rights. I just think things would've been smoother if I weren't so judgemental.

And for your girlfriend's sake try to be a bit more outgoing, like I mentioned before, how can we have fun with people if we think they hate us???

If people are staring at your girlfriend, just hold her closer and make her feel safe. She has to be more outgoing as well. Sometimes when we get shy and defensive, we are critical to people...who sometimes turn out to be not so bad, even if they drink or smoke, that's their business-as long as they don't pressure you to join them.

Your girlfriend might interact with cool people, everyone gets stared at or talked about, the world is just that negative and catty. But you two have each other! And surely you two aren't the only nice people out there, you have to be open minded.

Try it! You might enjoy yourself next time out. I think I'll try my own advice this weekend, lol.
Reply:My question to you is why would you want to fit in with others who has such a different life style as yours and your girlfriend? I would want to avoid them, not be among them. Stay with people who believe as you do, and you will find the approval and support system you need from others your own age.
Reply:Thank God you have your girlfriend. You are too mature for those mindless kids. Find music you like. Find movies you like. Find social groups that interest you. You're 23. That's past high school and the need to fit in. Find people with similar interests as you and your gilrfriend. She will not have acne her whole life. She likes you and you see beyond the superficial. Be yourself. Do what you love. You will be much happier that way. Good luck!
Reply:I will leave this quote by the great Oakland California rapper Too Short "Get in, where you fit in."

I think it is self explanatory.

My niece has Keratosis Pilaris...has anyone found any products that work?

Keratosis Pilaris is a skin condition often found on the back of arms. It is hereditary %26amp; caused by a back up of protein or keratin in the hair follicles causing an acne-looking or bumpy appearance.

1. I took her to a Dermatologist, who prescribed Pro Lactin this didn't work.

2. If you have had success list products %26amp; regimen you followed.

3. Any tips would help, she is getting ready to go back to school this month %26amp; desperately needs help!!Thanks so much!!!

My niece has Keratosis Pilaris...has anyone found any products that work?
I have ichthyosis vulgaris, a condition that often goes hand-in-hand with keratosis pilaris (which I also have, but on my thighs and not my arms). I was prescribed Am-Lactin rather than Pro-Lactin and I've never had a problem with the way it works.

Other than that, I recommend getting her a GREAT body exfoliator to use in the shower. Maybe something from Bath %26amp; Body Works, or better yet something medicated from a drug store or a place like that.

After she uses the exfoliating scrub in the shower (and tell her to scrub scrub scrub those arms, GENTLY but thoroughly, and not so it hurts or burns), put some of the Am-Lactin on it. If not Am-Lactin, try cocoa butter, which works great. If neither one of them, try Jergens Moisturizing body lotion with exfoliating beads.

I hope that works, and if you need anything else, feel free to e-mail me! kokopelli86@gmail.com. :)
Reply:I used chinese herbs and it works
Reply:Try here: http://www.helpforkp.com/
Reply:The best thing to do is shower twice a day, exfoliate with a rough mitt (the rougher the better) and smother the affected area with LOTS of body lotion.

If she does this for a week or two, then she should notice a huge difference. After that, it's a matter of continuing the same routine with daily showers.

Sunshine seems to help too, don't ask me why.

Teenagers very commonly have it, but grow out of it by adulthood usually... if it's keratosis pilaris alba, particularly.

Thin eyebrows from alopecia, any way to make them full again?

ten years ago i got a skin condition called Alopecia Areata, i lost patches of hair on my head, arms, eyelashes and eyebrows, my eyebrows and eyelashes completely went away, my eyelashes are finally growing back (really short but theyre back)

however, my eyebrows are really thin, not dark like they used to be, and very very sparse

is there any way to make them grow fuller and thicker (i know thats the opposite of what most women want these days)

help me, ive had to draw in my eyebrows for ten years and i just want real ones

Thin eyebrows from alopecia, any way to make them full again?
I Don't think there is anything that you can do to make your eyebrows grow back. However, if you are tired of drawing on eyebrows, have you thought about getting them tattooed on?! Search around your area for a cosmetic tattooist! they numb the skin first with numbing cream and it's not painful at all.

I have very thin eyelashes so i had eyelash enhancement (tattooing right along eyelash line to make them look fuller) and tattooed eyeliner done. Believe me....i absolultely love it!

and depending on where you are, prices may vary. Here i paid 150 dollars for my eyeliner. Typically i believe eyebrows run around 250. This price usually also includes follow up visit for touch ups!
Reply:I had that condition 20 years ago. I'm not sure how you can get your eyebrows to grow in thicker. I lost my eyebrows too, but luckily they grew back the same. I wore a wig for 8 months because I was too selfconscoius about being bald. My hair ended up growing in white, it used to be dark brown. My hair grows really slowly now, which sucks!!
Reply:Recent studies from late last year have found some positive response from utilising hypnotherapy with Alopecia Areata. It is new research and mainly focussed on hair growth on the scalp. It would be worth a try if you found a good practitioner.

Warm Regards,

David

I have always had these little tiny bumps on my upper arm, like from the shoulder to my elbow?

does anyone know, what kind of skin condition this could be ? i was told by a doctor , that i was born with them , but i forgot what he called these tiny bumps??

I have always had these little tiny bumps on my upper arm, like from the shoulder to my elbow?
I don't know what they are called but I have them too and I found putting lition on them at least everyday keeps them at bay for the most part...Good Luck!
Reply:No it's some technical term I have them too.
Reply:it might be ezhyma...i really dont know how to spell it, but i know what you are talking about
Reply:my boyfriend has them.. i think theyre cute.

sorry, that really had nothing to do with your question.

:S

all i know is that when he went on holiday 2 a hot place for 2 weeks, they went, but came back after 2 days.

but its fine. dont worry about it.
Reply:those are rash : they can be caused by using wrong kind of

soap bar and usally irritations like that should be treated as needed! but best results get http://www.medicatedcream/aloe.com
Reply:They could be tiny ingrown hairs. I get those sometimes because my shirt sleeves rub against my upper arms so much. Try exfoliating your skin and see if it helps.
Reply:I have the same thing. If they have white on the end, its pipmles, if they dont, its the oppisite, realy dry skin. Or if it comes in large rash like spots its called Exzema, a skin condition, that basicly means unnaturaly dry skin, and there are lotions for it.
Reply:It is called keratosis piliaris, and it is inhertied. It is also very common, and tends to be worse during puberty. People who have this, may also have eczema, and dry skin. Some doctors reccomend lactic acid lotion, but be careful it can be irritating
Reply:i have this all over my arms and exfoliating and lotion help the most
Reply:I'm not sure what they are called but I own a spa and I have many clients with this problem. I have one cure for you. I have a treatment at the Spa which is a full body dead sea mud mask. Mud from the dead sea is and amazing treatment. You have the mud massaged onto your skin and allow it to dry then wash it off. This mud just about treats any skin disorder, especially the small bumps y ou are referring to. Many people travel directly to the Dead Sea for treatments. Try it, there is nothing to lose. Make sure the mud you use is 100% pure and unprocessed. It will work the best that way.

Would u consider a girl with eczema attractive?

Many people have said that i'm gorgeous but unfortunately i suffer from eczema. As a result my self esteem is pretty low. I'm also frustrated that i cant wear pretty dresses or skirts. I'm also afraid guys might reject me once they find out that i suffer from a skin condition.

Would u consider a girl with eczema attractive?
i have friends who have it too....it doesn't effect them any. any guy who is disgusted or disencouraged in any way whatsoever isn't worth it. u don't want a guy who's only gonna literally look skin deep...i know its corny an it sounds like a soap opera or somethin but its true....in 2005 i had an accident on a motorcycle that left 45% of mylegs scarred. pavement burn. basically parts of my thighs an calves are darker than the rest of my skin an are a little spotty...guess what?? i still wear skirts an skimpy shorts lol....when u let ur condition get to u, that's when guys are gonna be disencouraged, but if you show that it doesn't bother you an that you are who you are!!! then they'll say hey!! shes sexi!! XD dont let it get to ya. if someone tells u ur gorgeous, then accept it an feel good about urself instead of worrying if its true or not.
Reply:My mom had eczema when she was younger but I'm lucky that i don't have it. Anyways if a guy did reject you because of your skin condition then he's not worth your time anyways. There will be guys who won't care though. Good luck with eczema. My mom uses Retin A (google it) by the way and it works well. Good luck!
Reply:No. A man will love you for who you are. They don't notice the flaws and when they do they find them endearing.

I mean look around, how many guys have girlfriends with big noses and hairy arms and big feet - they are comepletely blind to it. Love IS blind they say.
Reply:My sister suffered from bad eczema condition and went to see the dr. one day and he gave her this cream that she used and hasnt had a trace for years until now, wich she started again now and it sill works =] x
