Do you know anyone with Vitiligo???
yeah my mom has vitiligo and i have some small spots. but not a severe case. the places where we has it are hiden so it hasnt effected us.
my mom also works with a kid at her school who has it all over his body. some other children make fun of him and stuff and give him a hard time. but all teh kids are still very young and kids dont really no how to deal with him being differant
i think it jsut depends how severe a persons case is. and how they actually let it effect them.
Reply:Though cosmetically significant, it is really no disease as simply absence of melanin in certain areas of skin is not causing any problems. I had a friend who got it and gradually it spread to involve arms, hands and face. We all were still together, we knew it is not infectious and finally he married a nice girl. It is awareness in the circle that counts.
There was a girl I knew who had this and she decided she will not marry as she was concerned her kids might also get it. But she was so much persuaded by a boy who loved her, she married him on the condition that they will not have kids and ultimately they bore kids too, all have been well I heard. (I am not directly in touch with her.)
