Which hairstyle is best for my curly hair?

I am frankly very bored with my current hair style as all I can be bothered to do is shove it in a pony tail and it takes me at least 1:30 hours to straighten it.

I have very curly hair and I would like a shorter style that is versatile and easy to manage.

I would ideally like a mid length hair style and I am thinking of having it chemically straightened so my hair being unruly would not be a problem for me altohugh I want my hair to cover my neck because I have a skin condition that I am self consious about .

I would be really grateful I also like layers

cheers

dont chemically straighten yur hair! you'll regret it. My mother did that like 3 years ago, it faded away and her hair was never the same again-- it still isnt. It began to grow very slowly, its frizzier, its not even "curly" anymore, the curls look more like "zig zags"... she regrets it so much.

i have EXTREMELY curly hair. People often ask me if im part african american. Im so bored with my hair too... i could leave it down for a few minutes after applying gel and what not.... but it wont be long until i have to put it up, otherwise it will go all over the place...

my hair will NEVER go staright. ive been to a lot of salons and none of them could make my hair pin straight =(

be happy yu dont have hair like mine...

Reply:hahaha i have very curly hair and I'm half black....check out my profile and look at my Q;s i got good responses....PS dont go to short...go to aveda the store its a salon.. they have a quick smooth that's not as strong ..it loosens Ur waves...or the Japanese straightener
Reply:Cut it to your sholders and have it chemically strightened, good luck.
Reply:scrunch curling looks pretty and doesnt take up too much time..:D

buy some product that enhances curls..like Loreal Curl Scrunching Mousse (somewhere along the lines lol)

and apply to your hair while scrunching
Reply:Whatever you do, don't chemically straighten your hair, unless you really really want to and have done your research. I considered that aswell, but when when I learned more about it, I refused to let myself do it.

Now, for your hair style. Long layers in curly hair makes your hair look thinner, so it doesn't have that poofy look to it. So I would consider getting a haircut, to the length you want the longest layer at, then ask your stylist to cut long layers in your hair. And not many either, too many and you hair might have an afro look to it.

Also, if you want to keep your hair moistured, which makes it less frizzy, and hard to manage, you should get hydrating shampoos and conditioners, not straightening shampoos/conditioners. Often times most curly hair just needs more moister, to get some of the frizz to settle.

If you don't already have one, consider investing in a crematic straightener, I used to take almost two hours to straighten my hair, and now it only takes 30-40 min.

Now, for some extra peices of advice. You might want to get some shorter bangs just to frame your face. Not too short, unless your willing to straighten them every day, going by your description of your hair, it would make it frizz. Just a couple locks of hair a little shorter than the rest, to frame your face.

I hope your hair troubles are solved!
